Remember that ignorance is no defence under the law. If you are in the unfortunate position of being prosecuted, the main defence available to you under food law is that you took all reasonable precautions to prevent commission of an offence, i.e. 'Due Diligence'. We can help you.
 
   
 
Depending upon the size of your business we offer the following solutions in combination or seperately:-

 

1) Food Hygiene Audits / Health & Safety Audits  -  We are able to carry out adhoc or one off audits of your commercial premises (food business etc). These independent audits of our clients premises will identify areas of legal non-compliance, and provide recommendations on good  practice. A full written report will be provided which will explan each legal non compliance. It will detail what is wrong, why it is wrong, and how it can be put right. A certificate will also be provided.

2) Food Hygiene Training (including Safer Food Better Business - SFBB - training) - This is available to all food businesses to coach and train them in the principles of food hygiene and hazard analysis including the use of FSBB pack. This training is available for up to 5 members of staff from £150* which includes a visit by a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner to your business. A certificate is issued for each member of staff attending the training. 

 

3) Food Safety Management Plan (FSMP) - This plan is intended for the more established food businesses who endeavour to go that bit more further to ensure that they not only comply fully with their legal obligations but achieve standards over and above them. The Food Safety Management Plan includes carrying out a full Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) of all food operations within the business, as part of the pack. It will also include the food hygiene training (FSBB training for all staff members). Food Safety Policies i.e. Health Screening Policy, Food Complaints Policy, and Stock Rotation Policy are also put in place. In relation to the Health Screening Policy, standard health declaration forms are included. In relation to the Food Complaints Policy standard complaint record sheets are included to record the details of food complaints received. Standard temperature and cleaning record sheets are also included to record the appropriate details on an easy to follow one week per A4 sheet basis. All the information is kept in a ring binder file for the Local Authority EHO to see on inspection. A Certificate of Audit is also issued after each audit. The cost for the FSMP will vary depending upon the type and size of food business. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. 

 

4) Crisis Management - If you find yourself in a situation where enforcement action is being taken against you, we can assist by providing practical advise and liase with the local authority EHO on your behalf.
